Three things in this verse warrant our undivided attention.

First is the incomparability of our Lord and God. Who is like him? No one comes close to bettering him. He is utterly unique and therefore deserves nothing less than our total allegiance. The worth of all else fades in the incomparable majesty of our God.

Secondly is his might. The Lord Almighty carries a strength beyond our imagination. He holds the power of life itself. He commands the wind and the waves. He stands over Satan and subdues the havoc he wreaks. He can do immeasurable more than we could ever ask. His word never fails to achieve what he intends.

And so, thirdly, he is unshakably trustworthy. The power he wields is governed by his covenant commitment to his people. Though he is terrifyingly powerful, we need not fear him, for he directs all his strength toward our safety. He gleams with faithfulness from which we would do well never to depart.

May these three truths of our God be ever-present in our thoughts so we can step into every new day confident of his love for us and promise to us.
