A Prayer

Father God,

From the majesty of your eternal kingdom and out of the glory of your perfect character, you reach out to your people with outstretched arms of love.

Your covenant promises are sure. Every fibre of your being, every aspect of your character, and every one of your acts is marked by your compassionate commitment to us.

Help me know there is no safer place to rest than in the comfort of your promise. Give me an ever-growing sense of your love and faithfulness so I will never wander from the perfection of your ways. Do not let me be swayed by the world’s offerings, do not let my trust in you be overruled by them. As I fix my eyes on Jesus, temper my sin and teach me to walk in his truth.

The demands of your covenant require nothing more than trust, Lord. Your yoke is easy and burden light. You are gentle and humble in heart. You lift the heavy burden from us, you take away our sin and shame, and you save us. May we always entrust ourselves to your perfect way in Christ.
