Psalm 107: The God who Serves
“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
Psalm 107:8
and his wonderful deeds for mankind.”
There is no sweeter treasure for the human soul than to be assured of the unfailing love of our creator and sustainer. In him, we lack nothing. In him is the gift of life eternal. In him is perfect contentment.
Can there be any truth more profoundly comforting than this?
No matter what circumstance we find ourselves in, the Lord’s love is sure. In the sunshine and in the storm, his kindness to us is as unbreakable as it is immeasurable. Even in our rebellion, his love persists.
Romans 8 reminds us of the eternal truth of this in Christ. There, like here, we’re told that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Our souls have been secured by his death and resurrection. No other act can surpass this in wonder or majesty. His wonderful deeds for mankind are undeniably praiseworthy. Therefore, thankfulness should ever ring from our lips, and gratitude should always be our posture towards him. To live in the comfort of his unfailing love is glorious freedom.
