A Prayer

Eternal God, Lord of all, gracious heavenly Father.

You are worthy of our highest praise. Creation bellows out its testimony to your majestic power. We are surrounded by your mighty deeds. And yet you do not stand far off. You come close to your creation and enter into it. You make yourself known to your people.

Moreover, your people are known to you. You are attentive to our prayers. In your sovereignty, you act on them. You direct your love and kindness to us in our hour of need.

Father, help us to stand firm on the foundations of your faithfulness, mercy, love and grace. Help us walk the path of righteousness that you have established for us in Jesus. We pray this so life and redemption can be ours to the full. Set our hearts on him above else that we may glory in your goodness.

For his glory and in his name we pray.
