A Prayer

Lord almighty,

Thank you that you do not remain hidden from our sight, but that you make yourself known, revealing your will and your ways to us in Jesus Christ.  

Lord his love steers us on the course of life.  Apart from him, we have no good thing.  But with him, we know we will enjoy eternal pleasures.

Father helps us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.  You sent him, your Son, to save us.  Thank you for his perfect obedience to you and that in him we find the bedrock of truth and life.  His steadfast allegiance to you is inseparable from his steadfast allegiance to us.  

He provides the only true platform for life. We know we can build our lives on him with the perfect assurance that our sin has been dealt with and eternal future with you is secured.  In Christ, we stand firm, incapable of being shaken.

Strengthen our faith, Lord, through a deepening awareness of your work in us through your Son.  Allow us to continually gaze upon Jesus, and be increasingly enamoured by his perfection, so we might better bring glory to you in this world.
