Psalm 36: Priceless
“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
Psalm 36:7
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”
Would all of this world’s wealth be mine
Still it could not compare
To your priceless love’s embrace
And ever-tender care
Though every earthly pleasure may
Indulge my every sense
Still my heart would long for you
To ease my soul’s lament
And even if tomorrow held
No threat of Satan’s sting
I would yet seek comfort from
the shadow of your wing
For without you I’m nothing
But through your Son, assured
That his life was given for me
To open heaven’s door.
For in my sin he’s patient and
In my darkness, light
In my sickness, gentle
and in my sorrow, kind
So what in all creation can
Eclipse his matchless grace
For though unworthy, he has died
In my deserved place
